Join our Te Awamutu Meals on Wheels team!

The Meals on Wheels service supports vulnerable people living at home who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves.

Role Description

Shifts start at the meal pick-up point Meal pick-up time is 10:3am Monday to Friday. Generally, delivery runs take 1 to 1.5hrs.

Your Tasks

  • Pick up meals at 10:30am from the pick-up point
  • Keep Meals packed in insulated chilly bins or bag until delivered.
  • Deliver meals to people and have a chat at the door.
  • Go home feeling good that you’ve helped someone out today.

Volunteer requirements and training

  • Friendly caring person
  • Have access to own vehicle (Current Rego and WOF)
  • Have valid drivers license (Minimum of a Restricted)
  • Pass a Ministry of Justice Check (Vulnerable Persons)
