Mandarin speaking Tutor assistant - RIccarton area - Tuesday or Thursday am

Two Mandarin speaking volunteer tutor assistants are needed to help students with English language classes. Volunteers are needed to support the tutor in ESOL classes. Volunteers will work one on one with Chinese or other learners or assisting them with class activities under the guidance of the tutor. Generally learners are encouraged not to speak Mandarin in class, but interpretation is needed at times to help learners understand the tutor's instructions. Volunteers need to be able to attend their allocated session each week during term time. The classes are held in Riccarton on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. The rewards of this role include working with a wide range of people, contributing to the community and participating in a learning environment. We offer free parking, orientation, annual training session, and a Christmas lunch for volunteers.
