Got Time to Brighten Someone’s Day?

Keen to do something a bit different with your spare time? Come be a mate and make a real impact.

Right now, there’s someone in Porirua who would really enjoy having a regular visitor to hang out with on-site at the hospital.

With a big imagination and a creative spark, this is a great chance to connect through things like art, simple activities, and relaxed conversations. It’s all about taking things at a comfortable pace and building trust over time. Bonus if you enjoy a good yarn about fishing — especially the kind where the fish get bigger every time the story’s told.

We’re looking for someone kind, patient, and easy-going — but also confident in holding friendly, firm boundaries to create a safe and positive experience for everyone.

What’s great about this role? • Super flexible — visits can happen any day that suits you • A chance to build a meaningful connection • Do something genuinely rewarding (and feel good about it too) No special skills needed — just a warm, steady approach and willingness to show up. If you're in or around Porirua and this sounds like your kind of thing, I’d love to hear from you. Be a steady, friendly presence. It really does mean everything.
