Online Community Facilitator
ME/CFS Canterbury/West Coast Charitable Trust managed by Volunteering Canterbury

We are looking for someone to help us improve the wellbeing of people with ME/CFS and long COVID and their whanau by:
- Facilitating connections and relationships within the regional online ME/CFS community to reduce the isolation experienced.
- Providing approved information about ME/CFS and strategies for living with it.
- Sharing news of interest to our chronically ill community.
Do you have?
- A qualification relevant to the health, disability or social work sector is desirable.
- An understanding of ME/CFS, or a similar chronic disabling condition, and the impacts on quality of life.
- Warm, kind, non-judgmental, and calm manner

Did you know? People with ME/CFS, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and long COVID have a reduced level of functionality that means they cannot complete normal activities of daily living. An additional burden is that doing too much physically or mentally can trigger Post-Exertional Malaise – a worsening of symptoms that can last for days or more. Many people with ME/CFS are house or bed bound, are unable to work, and do not have access to adequate financial, home and mobility supports through the welfare and health systems.
