Job Description Position Title:

Volunteer – Allergy & Anaphylaxis Awareness Allergy New Zealand

Location: *Community health events throughout Auckland *

Days: You should be available on either Friday, Saturday or Sunday If you are not available on these days, please do not apply.

Role Purpose: Support public education efforts related to allergy and anaphylaxis safety. Assist with event activities, distribute resources, speak with attendees – under the supervision of an Allergy Educator, and promote understanding of prevention and emergency responses.

Responsibilities • Engage with the public at events to share accurate, accessible health information • Distribute available resources and/or promote Allergy NZ website resources • Direct enquiries to the Allergy Educator when necessary • Help set up and manage educational booths • Encourage participation in allergy awareness activities • Maintain a calm and compassionate presence during sensitive discussions

What We’re Looking For • Strong English language skills — good with written and spoken English • Active listening skills – fully present and engaged when someone is speaking • Excellent communication — active listening and respectful conversation • Common sense — sound judgment in varied settings • Good intellectual capacity — ability to understand and convey allergy concepts clearly • Friendly, approachable, and responsible demeanor • Availability during weekends or event days
