Whānau support
PIPS Pregnancy Infancy Parenting support managed by Volunteering Canterbury

PIPS is looking for amazing volunteers to help welcome whānau into our space and support our kaimahi as they assist with enquiries and practical needs. If you love connecting with people, enjoy a bit of organised chaos, and hold strong values around confidentiality, boundaries, and ethics, we’d love to have you in our rōpū. This is a face‑to‑face role where you’ll be the first friendly smile whānau see. You’ll help guide them through our space, support staff with their mahi, and keep things running smoothly throughout the day. We’re looking for volunteers who are: Confident engaging with whānau and social services Warm, respectful and non judgmental Comfortable following simple administrative procedures Clear communicators Your mahi may include: Collecting whānau information and data Sorting and organising baby and maternity clothing, bedding, toys, or nursery items Helping kaimahi with enquiries and practical support Keeping our shop area tidy, welcoming, and full of aroha This role would suit someone with experience in a similar organisation or may be studying to work in the social service sector. If this sounds like you and you’re keen to uplift our community, share kindness, and be part of a supportive team, we’d love to hear from you. Your time and heart can make a real difference for local whānau.
