CanShop Retail Assistant

Volunteer opportunity at CanShop – Cancer Society’s quality secondhand goods store located in Remarkables Park Town Centre.

Run day-to-day by an amazing group of volunteers, all funds raised goes back into supporting people in our community affected by cancer. CanShop is more than just a place to shop – it’s a beacon of hope and support for those affected by cancer. By volunteering with us, you’ll be helping to fund essential cancer research and support to those in the community affected by cancer. Help us turn quality secondhand finds into support for Cancer Society Otago Central Lakes.

As a Retail Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our store. Opportunities available include retail assistant, sorter, and/ or pricer. Whether you’re a styling superstar who knows all the labels, or you love to chat with customers, we’d love to have you on board.

Tasks will include:

Retail Assistant:

· Assisting customers with their purchases and providing excellent customer service · Creating attractive store displays · Maintaining a clean and organised store environment

Sorter: · Unpacking and sorting donations

Pricer: · Researching and pricing items

What we’re looking for:

· Friendly, outgoing, and eager to engage with our community

· Passionate about fashion and retail

· Reliable and committed to their volunteer shifts

· Supportive of the mission of the Cancer Society

· Able to work collaboratively in a team environment

· Over the age of 18 (or 16 with guardian permission)
