Delta Community Trust in Richmond operates a number of initiatives based around food for the community. Our food comes from multiple sources and is all rescued, second-chance food items. We are looking for a person experienced in working with food. Someone who: • Has food safety training/experience • Understands best before/use by and shelf stability of food items • Can work alongside out Foor Store team, mentoring and upskilling them in food management practices and help increase knowledge across the team • Is able to use initiative and leadership to help the Food Store run efficiently • Has a full drivers license and can drive our van, as required, and assist with food collection • Is physically able to assist with food collection and then unpacking after collection from our suppliers • Is process orientated and can contribute to the smooth running of the food coming in and out of our system. • This is an ideal role for someone who has commercial cooking experience (or similar) and understands the needs of busy café (we run several)

Time commitment • There are three days we need the support in this space. As a volunteer joining us, you could do all three days or share them one other person. o Monday – noon to 3pm o Wednesday 9.30am to noon o Friday 9.30am to noon. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on volunteering and who understands the power of food and connection in building strong communities.
