Front of House Volunteer
Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre (MRCC) managed by Volunteering Canterbury

Key responsibilities for the Front of House Volunteer are: • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival. • Provide information about the Centre, events, schedule and facilities. • Direct guest to the appropriate areas. • Hand out brochures and/or fliers as needed. • Support the Centre staff with various tasks and/or projects as needed. • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the front of house area, including counters, shelves, and equipment.
Skills & Experience: • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Friendly, welcoming manner when greeting visitors • Ability to provide clear information and answer simple enquiries • Comfortable interacting with people from basic cultures and background • Basic organisational skills (e.g. keeping the front area tidy, managing simple tasks) • Willingness to learn new systems or processes
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
- Punctual, dependable, and able to commit to the volunteer schedule.
- Prior experience in customer service or event assistance is a plus but not required.
