Do you enjoy driving and making a meaningful difference in someone's day? We're looking for compassionate, reliable volunteer drivers to support older adults (65+) accessing our 65Alive Programme.
As a volunteer driver, you'll play a vital role in helping participants attend - reducing isolation and supporting recovery, and independence.
What You'll Do
- Provide safe and respectful transportation for older adults to and from programmes
- Offer friendly interaction during rides
What We're Looking For
- Full clean NZ driver’s license
- Minimum 2yrs clean and sober
- Relates well to older people
- High reliability
- Excellent time management skills
We run a group on Wednesdays (10.30am – 12.30pm). Drivers would need to be free for most of the day, between 9am and 3pm (we have a couple of clients as far north as Kaiapoi), in order to pick up a vehicle from Greers Rd, Burnside to get some of the members to either; Age Concern (Papanui) on the North Methodist Church (Harewood); and then to drop them home again following group.
