Responsibilities include - to maintain the overhead tram wires (600 V d.c.) and operate overhead works vehicles. To train assistants and supervise contractors working on the Tramway's electrical installations To help to safeguard security of the installations including switch board, transformer and rectifiers in the substation. To oversee health and safety in the electrical area, and ensure electrical tools in use are in good repair. To investigate and report on electrical incidents, and to monitor the Tramway's safety system. To safeguard themselves by not working alone on tasks, and to become part of the enjoyable communal life of The Tramway Historical Society which operates the tramway.
