The Race Secretary acts as a central point of contact for competitors and is key to maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of club racing and regattas.

Key Responsibilities,

Entry Management, Receive and process race and regatta entries.
Maintain the official list of competitors, Co-ordinate the collection of entry fees and required documentation.

Results Management Ensure accurate, timely collation and publication of race results. Prepare and distribute official results sheets.
Maintain historical race records.

Competitor Communication Act as the primary liaison for competitor queries. Provide race instructions, course information, and rule clarifications. Keep competitors informed of schedule changes, safety updates, and protest outcomes.

Race Management Support Assist the Race Officer with course planning, race timing and documentation. Help coordinate the race team and volunteers for each event. Support logistical planning before and during race days.

Protest and Dispute Handling Manage protest submissions and maintain protest logs. Facilitate protest hearings in line with the Racing Rules of Sailing. Help ensure fair and consistent application of rules.

Compliance and Risk Management - Ensure all racing activities align with Yachting New Zealand regulations and club policies. Identify and assist in managing risks associated with race operations.
