Enjoy fellowship while contributing to community good.

Rotary Club of Belfast/Kaiapoi managed by Volunteering Canterbury

Logo for Volunteering Canterbury

Members meet each week on Tuesday evening for fellowship including a meal and a short meeting, usually with a guest speaker, all of which is about two hours.

Attendance at meetings is voluntary but is a chance to build friendships with fellow members who are mostly retired or approaching retirement.

We run fundraising projects to support community based activities, such as youth leadership, buying computers for low decile primary schools, purchasing aids for early childhood education and supporting outdoor education. We run a student speech contest for local schools. We also support wider Rotary initiatives such as driver education for high school students and supporting the international effort to eliminate polio. We collect medical equipment surplus to local providers to be sent to the Pacific. Our most important fund raising project is growing new potatoes and selling them in north west Christchurch before Christmas.
