Community Conservation Volunteering
Conservation Volunteers NZ managed by Volunteering Canterbury

Love the outdoors? Want to do something positive for nature? Volunteering with CVNZ is a hands‑on, feel‑good way to make a real difference.
Our volunteers help out with practical conservation work like planting trees, releasing, monitoring threatened species, weeding, trapping and coastal clean‑ups. It’s active, rewarding, and a great excuse to get outside.
Don’t worry if you’re new to conservation — we provide all tools and personal protective equipment, and every project is led by a friendly, trained team leader who’ll guide you and make sure you feel supported.
Volunteering with CVNZ is also a lovely way to meet new people, learn something new, and enjoy a fun day out doing something meaningful.
We offer regular volunteering opportunities during the week as well as on weekends, so it’s easy to find a time that works for you.
Come along, get your hands dirty, and be part of caring for Aotearoa’s natural environment.
