We enable volunteers to support and advocate for vulnerable adults who are unable to make their own health and welfare decisions, when no family or friends are able to do this.

We are a registered Canterbury-based charity, founded in 2018, with a mission to ensure that everyone in need has access to a competent and compassionate Welfare Guardian. A position description is available for this role. We provide a full induction and ongoing support and training.

What we need from you:

Experience in the health, disability or social work sectors – can be applicable experience with family or friends. Able to always exhibit and share the values of Welfare Guardians Canterbury: Dignity, Sustainable and committed, Person-centric, Manaakitanga, Transparent and accountable. To have a warm, kind, non-judgmental, and calm manner. A good level of English language skills and an ability to communicate clearly.
