Community Energy Action is Christchurch based charitable trust with a focus on helping low income people stay warm and healthy at home. One of its projects is the Curtain Bank which collects donated curtains from the public and recycles them into the homes of low income households for free.

Since 1995, our Christchurch Curtain Bank has been gathering pre-owned curtains and transforming these into new ones for around 400 homes every year – assisting an estimated 10,000 households to date.

Our Curtain Bank is looking for a volunteer to fold and sort donated curtains which will be given away for free to low income families.

The volunteer would be joining a small team that already consists of some long-term volunteers. We need someone willing to commit several hours per week, between 9 am - 4 pm on weekdays.

The Curtain Bank has moved to 55 Ferry Road (between Barbadoes and Fitzgerald).
