What truly makes mentoring with us special is the positive impact on you and your mentee. Many of our mentors describe their experience as deeply fulfilling - not just because they see their mentee grow but because they feel a sense of community, appreciation, and purpose. Right now, there are tamariki and rangitahi (young people) waiting to be matched with a mentor, eager to meet someone like you who will support them, laugh with them and explore new experiences together. As a mentor, your role is simple yet powerful: be a consistent, trusted adult in their life and spend time together doing activities you both enjoy! If you've ever thought about becoming a mentor, now is the time. You don't need to have all the answers - you just need to be present, kind, and willing to share a little of your time. We believe every child in Aotearoa deserves to stride into the future with confidence, no matter their circumstances. Pillars Ka Pou Whakahou is a charity that exists to support the tamariki with a parent in prison to create positive futures for themselves.
