Kapa Haka Kaiako (Tutor)

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Volunteer Kapa Haka Kaiako (Tutor) to lead regular kapa haka sessions at The Shed Project. This role supports cultural learning and whakawhanaungatanga in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The tutor will guide participants through waiata, haka, poi, and basic tikanga, supporting both beginners and those with some experience. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging kapa haka sessions appropriate to participants� abilities
• Teach waiata, haka, poi, and actions with clear explanation and encouragement
• Share tikanga and cultural context in a respectful and accessible way
• Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
• Support group participation and confidence-building
