Meals on Wheels service supports vulnerable people living at home who would otherwise struggle to provide healthy meals for themselves. We need casual volunteers to fill in when our regular drivers are unavailable.

Shifts start at the meal pick-up point in Mount Maunganui Meal pick-up time is 11:00am Monday to Friday. Generally, delivery runs take 1 to 1.5hrs within the Mount Maunganui and Papamoa areas

Your Tasks

• Be available at short notice
• Pick up meals at 11:00am from the pick-up point
• Keep Meals packed in insulated chilly bins or bag until delivered.
• Deliver meals to people and have a chat at the door.
• Go home feeling good that you’ve helped someone out today.

Volunteer requirements and training

• Friendly caring person
• Have access to own vehicle
• Have valid drivers licence (Minimum of a Restricted)
• Pass a Police Check (Vulnerable Persons)
