About Us: East Skate Club Incorporated is a vibrant community organization that operates the SonSk8 Indoor Skatepark in Glen Innes, Auckland. We are dedicated to growing the skateboarding community by providing safe, engaging, and educational opportunities for skaters of all skill levels.
Job Summary: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Skate Coach to join our team. will be responsible for planning and leading skateboarding lessons, fostering a fun and inclusive environment, and inspiring individuals to develop their skills and confidence on a skateboard.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruct and Coach: Deliver high-quality skateboarding lessons for individuals and groups, catering to all ages and skill levels from beginners to advanced skaters. Safety and Supervision: Ensure the safety of all participants by teaching proper techniques, enforcing safety rules, and maintaining a vigilant and supportive presence during sessions. Program Development: Assist in creating and enhancing skateboarding programs and workshops, incorporating feedback from participants to improve the experience. **Community Engagement: ** Build positive relationships with skaters and their families, encouraging a welcoming and inclusive community at the skatepark. **Equipment Maintenance: **Inspect and maintain skateboarding equipment, ensuring it is safe and in good condition for use. Event Participation: Support and participate in community skate events, competitions, and promotional activities organized by East Skate Club.
Qualifications and Experience: Proven experience in coaching young people Prior experience in coaching, teaching, or mentoring is preferred. Strong understanding of skateboarding safety practices and ability to communicate them effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire skaters of all ages. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Positive, enthusiastic, and patient demeanor, with a genuine passion for skateboarding and community building. Benefits:
