Campaigner & Community Mobilizer
Community led campaigns support.
- Provide strategic and operational support to community led campaigns.
- Lead the development of OANZ community-led campaigning strategies and plans.
Community engagement
- Nurture a flourishing community of grassroot mobilisers by providing timely advice and assistance, developing training materials and workshops, facilitating connections and exploring ways to leverage the power of community-led campaigning.
Campaign Development
- Develop and implement effective and integrated campaign plans, strategies and tactics related to the overall vision, goals and objectives for OANZ.
- Social media campaign strategy and implementation to engage community-led action.
Campaign Expertise -Maintain good knowledge on relevant campaign issues and provide expertise with respect to specialised campaign areas in order to ensure that OANZ can respond effectively to strategic opportunities, and influence the development of relevant national, regional and international legislation and practices.
Research & Investigations
- Conduct research and investigation in order to inform strategic campaign direction and development. This includes monitoring external political, scientific, communications and technical developments related to the campaign work and the provision of briefings to other departments as required.
Communications and engagement -Support, where needed, the design and implementation of OANZ communications and engagement strategies.
Stakeholder relationships -Liaise and build relationships with media, business, volunteers and activists, government and non-governmental organizations on issues relevant to campaign objectives.
Monitoring, evaluation & reporting -Evaluate project and campaign progress and shortcomings at designed points of evaluation, and draft campaign progress and annual reports and ensure that learning from evaluations is incorporated in future work.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Educational Qualifications
Preferable: Graduate degree from an academic institution preferably in political science, communications / marketing or other related disciplines.
Experience & skills -A passion for organic agriculture -Exposure to the design, implementation and management of environmental campaigns and development projects -Technical knowledge in the key campaign areas; understanding the roles that science, politics, economics, industry, media and social change play in campaigning -Strong communication skills, with an ability to draft and write documents, with a very good understanding of the strategic needs of a campaigning organisation -Sound knowledge of environmental challenges on a global and regional level
Project management skills -Analytical and problem solving skills -Proven ability to work as part of a team and actively pursuing networking with the ability to work remotely -Excellent Interpersonal relationship skills and networking capabilities, in particular building constructive and long-term relationships with both internal and external parties -Online community management skills are considered a strong asset. -Ability to effectively present information to a variety of audiences -Excellent command of written and verbal communications skills and good command of the English language.
