Thursday Food Rescue Admin Team Member
Kiwi Community Assistance Charitable Trust (KCA) managed by Volunteer Wellington
Become a vital part of the Kiwi Community Assistance Charitable Trust (KCA) team by volunteering as a Food Rescue Admin Team Member. Embark on this fulfilling journey from Grenada North, departing weekly between 7:45am to 11:45 am.
Upon arrival at our warehouse, our experienced storeman or general manager will provide thorough training and guide you through the days manifest. You will receive personalised 1-on-1 training, supplemented with a comprehensive manual for reference.
Working alongside our volunteer driver, your responsibilities will include sorting and boxing donated food from local supermarkets. Ensuring adherence to quality standards, you will carefully check 'use by' and 'best before' dates before packing items into banana boxes. All donated food will be weighed for accurate reporting.
Utilising a smartphone provided by KCA, you will capture and upload photos with narrations to our Facebook page while on the road in the chiller truck. Additionally, you will need to use your personal cellphone to check in and out of stores using the Woolworths app, requiring minimal data usage. Manual check-ins at store customer service desks are also acceptable.
This role entails a once-a-week commitment for a minimum of 3 to 6 months, offering you the opportunity to make a tangible difference in our community. Join us in our mission to rescue and redistribute food to those in need!
Please complete the online application on the KCA website if you are keen to volunteer.
