What we're looking for:

Some writing or research experience – You'll need to know how to follow up a news story, making calls and sending emails, scheduling interviews and drafting questions. But we’ll also provide training and support from an experienced journalist and presenter, so it's a great way to upskill. Some knowledge of audio editing (e.g. Audacity, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools or similar) would be useful but not required.

Ability to transition to an on-air role if desired – If you'd like to hone your interviewing and presenting skills, we're happy to accommodate that, and will train you towards that goal.

Team Player – Join a vibrant team of volunteers who are dedicated to making Hutt Radio a success. Collaboration and a positive attitude are key!
