Environment Hubs Aotearoa (EHA) is an Incorporated Society running a for-purpose network, supporting community-led solutions that empower regeneration and resilience. We envision connected communities regenerating te taiao, with 21 member hubs working towards this goal throughout Aotearoa. We recognise and aim to uphold Te Tiriti as the founding document of Aotearoa.

We are looking for fabulous people to join our awesome team of experienced and supportive volunteer Board members. Our ideal candidates will:

  • Align with our values and have a passion for environmental regeneration and resilience
  • Have governance experience, ideally in the non-profit sector
  • Excellent knowledge of the non-profit sector
  • Commit to regular monthly board meetings and occasional face-to-face meetings
  • Have political and public policy knowledge (preferred)

The Board meets monthly on Zoom for 2 hours with approximately 3 additional hours of contribution per month. You may be required to meet outside of the usual board meetings and in some cases required to travel for face-to-face meetings. All travel costs are covered. Board members are appointed for a term of 3 years which can be renewed.

The Board is currently focused on creating alternative revenue streams to support the ongoing work of the network. This reflects a challenging current funding environment and a need for a proactive Board.

Environment Hubs Aotearoa is committed to honouring and giving effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Candidates should either have or be committed to developing an understanding of Te Tiriti. We particularly welcome applications from people with knowledge of tikanga & Te Ao Māori. We welcome people of all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, religions, and disabilities/ abilities.

About EHA: Environment Hubs run programmes, answer public queries, and host events and workshops. EHA members upskill, educate, energise, inform, plant, weed, trap, recycle, fix, rescue food, divert waste and work on creating sustainable, healthy, insulated homes throughout their communities. By working together nationally we bring better opportunities to more communities and scale up the positive effect for our environment. To support the local work of our member network we run a national coordination office that connects, inspires and empowers our members.
