About the Role: We are seeking a highly organised, personable, and efficient funding and fundraising officer. This multifaceted role involves researching, applying, and securing funding for multiple avenues, and developing and executing viable fundraising campaigns and initiatives. As the first point of contact for funders, you act as an ambassador for our organisation and play the crucial role of securing funding for the sustainability and future of the organisation. You report directly to the CEO, and will have some contact with other staff, volunteers, the Executive Committee/Board, our members and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Grant Writing: Research, write, and submit compelling grant proposals and funding applications aligned with organisational goals.

Fundraising Campaigns: Plan and manage fundraising campaigns and initiatives to meet financial targets.

Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain relationships with donors, sponsors, and funding bodies to maximise support opportunities.

Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align marketing and fundraising efforts with organisational objectives.

About the Organisation: Complex Chronic Illness Support is a leading nonprofit organisation dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals and communities across New Zealand through innovative social support programs.

About the Team: Our Head Office is in Welcome Bay, Tauranga. You can work from this office, remotely, or a mixture of the two. We have staff and volunteers throughout New Zealand who work with a passion to support our members with Complex Chronic Illnesses like Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Post Viral Syndrome, Long COVID and Fibromyalgia.

About You:

We would prefer a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with successful grant and other funding applications. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other office management software. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and meet deadlines. Empathy, compassion, and a genuine commitment to the organisation's mission of serving the community. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
