Join Us as a Volunteer!

Located in Grenada North (Wellington), KCA warmly welcomes new volunteers like you! If you have your own vehicle, you’ll find convenient off-street parking right outside our warehouse.

To drive our chiller truck, you need to be over 25 with a full driver’s license (business insurance requirements). We ask for a weekly Thursday commitment of 3 to 6 months. The role involves physical activity, so being reasonably fit is important, with the ability to lift up to 15 kg solo or 20-25 kg with a partner.

We provide thorough training, including one-on-one sessions and a detailed manual. You’ll team up with our volunteer admin to sort and box donated food from local supermarkets. Checking ‘use by’ and ‘best before’ dates and weighing items for reporting are key tasks.

You'll use your cellphone for store check-ins via the Woolworths Visitors app or manually at customer service desks. Good communication and careful driving are essential to keep us on schedule. Please note that volunteers cannot take donated food or goods for personal use.

If you’re over 25 and have a full driver’s license, join us every Thursday morning from 8 am to 11:45 am. Help us make a difference through food rescue and support our community!
