Hato Hone St John has been serving New Zealanders and working to save lives since 1885. As well as providing Ambulance Services, our programmes and team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers are helping to build strong, resilient communities across the motu; supporting everyone in Aotearoa to live healthier, happier and longer lives.
About the role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? We are seeking local dedicated volunteers to help establish and shape a new Area Committee for the Marlborough region that will drive local initiatives and create a lasting impact within the community.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute your skills and ideas to build a strong, vibrant community network from the ground up.
You'll receive great support and guidance throughout your journey from our awesome Community Engagement team ensuring you have everything you need to succeed in this rewarding role.
Key priorities include:

Developing a deep understanding of community health and wellbeing needs within the local community.

Supporting local Community Health programmes and developing and delivering initiatives to ensure the strength, health and resilience within the community.

Support fundraising activities such as our Annual Appeal.

Taking care of Hato Hone St John people, finances and property in within the Marlborough region.

Create an annual Community Impact Plan and related budget to support the delivery of local Hato Hone St John initiatives.

Enhancing the reputation of Hato Hone St John within the community.
About you:
- A passion for the health and wellbeing of local communities and an interest in where Hato Hone St John can add value.
- An understanding or awareness of the organisational priority of Equity for Māori and/ or the willingness to learn and increase personal cultural competence.
- Existing connections within the local community and communication and networking skills to increase community reach and understanding.
- Ability to think creatively, collaboratively and work in partnership with others inside and outside of the organisation.
- Good organisational and time-management skills and proven ability to work in a team.
