Volunteer Board Member

Mount Tabor Trust

L'Arche Mount Tabor is a community of people with and without intellectual disabilities in Rodney and West Auckland.

The charitable trust’s income is in excess of $3m, predominantly from ongoing Ministry of Health contracts; net assets exceed $1m.

Mount Tabor has had a long and rewarding association with L’Arche International. There are two other L’Arche International associated organisations in New Zealand, in Wellington and Christchurch.

As for many other Not For Profits, the last few years have presented unique challenges, but we are now poised to strengthen and develop our wonderfully resilient community – physically, financially and spiritually.

Consequently, additional Board Members are sought who may possess one or more of the following:

Governance experience;

Financial or Legal expertise;

Disability Sector background;

Fundraising/Social Enterprise;

Strategic thinking;

Wide-ranging networks, ideally in West Auckland and Rodney;

The ability to welcome and accept others as they are, by sharing meals, activities and celebrations.

Meetings are held monthly, either virtually or in person in Henderson. Attendance at community and social events is encouraged.

Although this is a voluntary role, the rewards of governance at Mount Tabor can be uniquely warm, uplifting and long lasting through discovering and making known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities.

We actively welcome applications from all backgrounds. We have an unshakeable belief in diversity, inclusivity and, above all, community.

Applications must include a covering letter in addition to a curriculum vitae and can be made via SEEK or to [email protected]
