Hawke's Bay Recovery Team Volunteers
We are seeking more Volunteers to become a part of the Fire and Emergency team in Hawke’s Bay. We play a vital role in helping individuals who have experienced traumatic events, such as house fires. Your dedication to the health and wellbeing of others will enable you to offer essential emotional and practical support to those in need within your community.
Whether you are a current Volunteer or new to our community, we want to hear from you. If you are interested in joining our Recovery Team, we provide:
- Specialised training and opportunities for skill development
- Involvement in a supportive team environment
- Access to equipment and resources to aid in community recovery
- The chance to become a member of your local Fire and Emergency Brigade.
About the role – what’s involved:
- Provide personalised, emotional and practical support and information to people affected at incidents e.g. a house fire, motor vehicle collision
- Aid recovery and support to enable victims to restore their lives
- Engage with other key agencies to ensure continued support for affected people
- Demonstrate compassion and provide a non-judgemental ear
- Stand beside our community and support them following an event
- As a team, be able to respond 24/7, when a crisis calls
