Funding and Donations Lead
Auckland Puppy Rescue (APR) is a registered charity relying on donations and grants, run solely by volunteers committed to rescuing puppies in need, desexing to control the number of unwanted puppies being born and rehoming all puppies that come into our care.
APR is run by a small group of trustees and volunteers who each contribute valuable skills to ensure the charity’s success. We work collaboratively and communicate regularly and are always there to support our fellow volunteers if they need it.
The purpose of this role is to seek out funding and donation opportunities for Auckland Puppy Rescue (APR) that align and support its purpose.
Key activities of the role: • Identify funding sources: seek out opportunities to apply for grants, subsidies and funding from a range of local and national organisations • Funding applications: lead all elements of funding applications, including writing submissions, sourcing relevant information, following up on applications and keeping Trustees advised of potential funding opportunities and their progress • Donations: proactively seek out donation opportunities from the community and APR partners, keeping records of all donations received and ensuring appropriate acknowledgements are made (including issuing tax receipts
Skills you will need: • Previous experience in a similar role desired, including strong knowledge of how to secure grants, subsidies and funding through multiple avenues • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Strong attention to detail • Proactive attitude • Sense of urgency to complete tasks in a timely manner and take a flexible approach to change • Ability to work independently and to set own timeframes • Ability to attend the occasional fundraising event desired
