ABOUT YOUTHMIX:

Youthmix is a non-profit organisation dedicated to empowering youth through education, mentorship, coaching and community engagement. Our mission is "Empowering youth to thrive and excel in their careers". At Youthmix, we are building a community where every young person has the resources, opportunities, and support to achieve their career goals.

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As a Youthmix mentor, you will be responsible for providing guidance, support, and encouragement to young people as they navigate their career paths. You will work closely with your mentees to help them set goals, develop skills, explore career options, and overcome challenges. Your role will involve building positive relationships, offering constructive feedback, and connecting mentees with relevant resources and Opportunities.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Build trusting and supportive relationships with assigned mentees
• Assist mentees in setting realistic career goals and developing action plans to achieve them
• Provide guidance and advice on career exploration, educational opportunities, and skill development
• Offer constructive feedback and encouragement to help mentees overcome obstacles and stay motivated
• Connect mentees with relevant resources, networks, and opportunities in their chosen field
• Maintain regular communication with mentees to track progress and address any concerns or issues that arise

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

• Passion for working with young people and helping them succeed
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude
• Ability to listen actively and provide constructive feedback
• Possess a minimum of one year work experience or more
• Previous mentoring or coaching experience is preferred but not required
