World Clean Up Day at Trimdon Reserve

Come along and join us for World Clean Up Day to help combat the global mismanaged waste crisis. Help us with a litter clean up of Trimdon Reserve, Papakura to stop waste entering our streams. We may have some opportunities to release our native trees from weeds too.

Join us in the ongoing restoration of the Papakura Stream, a 63km freshwater river facing significant environmental challenges. Once surrounded by indigenous forests and kahikatea swamps, this stream has seen the loss of most of it's natural forest due to agricultural, industrial and urban developments.

Today, the Papakura stream is dealing with the modern problems of litter, dumping and other man-made pollutants. CVNZ and our amazing volunteers have been working hard to restore the mauri (lifeforce) of this important awa, and have been bringing the community together to collect data, clean up litter and plant natives along it's banks and reserves.

For this volunteer day you are welcome to meet us on site, or at our office in Mount Eden to get a ride in our van (by prior arrangement).
