The Chairperson plays a pivotal role in providing leadership, establishing governance practices, and ensuring effective participation and compliance within the organization. They oversee the board's activities, and coordinate with the hub coordinator. Responsibilities:

  1. Provide Leadership:
    • Lead the board in setting strategic goals and direction for the organisation.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive organisational culture.
  2. Establish Governance Practices:
    • Develop and implement governance practices and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
    • Uphold ethical standards and promote good governance principles.
  3. Board Briefing and Participation:
    • Ensure the board is adequately briefed on organisational progress, challenges, and issues.
    • Facilitate effective participation of board members in organisational development.
  4. Compliance and Policy Adherence:
    • Ensure compliance with organizational strategies and policies.
    • Monitor and evaluate policy effectiveness, recommending changes as necessary.
  5. Agenda Setting:
    • Set the agenda for board meetings in consultation with board members.
  6. Hub Coordinator Collaboration:
    • Meet fortnightly with the hub coordinator to discuss organisational matters and initiatives.
    • Provide guidance and support to the hub coordinator as needed.
