Retail Assistant - Op Shop Champion

Our Op Shops are full to the brim with interesting, useful and unique items, and our volunteers are the champions who make our shops amazing. We'd love to hear from you if you have a positive and caring attitude, you want to form new friendships, and use your skills, experience and talents to help keep our shops welcoming and well-organised. Our team of dedicated people in Hospice Whanganui's shops raise funds to provide free palliative care for our community.

• Our three shops have plenty of volunteering opportunities, from sorting and pricing to customer service, minor repairs of small items (not electrical) and basic testing of appliances, stocking the shops and creating window displays. We have specialty areas including books, toys, electronics, retro fashion, home décor, jewellery, linen, furniture, and more.

• Our shop assistants come from all walks of life and we encourage anyone interested in volunteering to contact us and find out more about our roles. Our shop volunteers usually work regular 3-4 hours long shifts but we have flexibility to match your needs. You can be with us for a few months or choose to stay with us for years!

We share information through email and printed copies in our shops, our quarterly newsletter helps you get to know our volunteer community and our wider Hospice community.
