Pallet Project at Habitat for Humanity (East Tamaki)
At Habitat for Humanity, we aim to make a difference by addressing inadequate and unaffordable housing, partnering with communities to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. This is achieved through a range of our programmes, such as Progressive Home Ownership, Home Repairs, Social Rentals, Healthy Homes and the Curtain Bank plus more, to benefit local Kiwi families.
A substantial part of our funding for our projects comes from the income we make from running our ReStores Charity stores that sell quality second-hand goods along with items created by our own Pallet Project team.
Our group of passionate volunteers strip pallets and turn them into wooden wonders like planters, bird boxes, cutting boards, bird feeders, Christmas trees and a lot more! Operating from our workshop in East Tamaki, they lovingly supply all our ReStores across Auckland and Whangarei with their awesome creations.
Ideally you will have DIY skills and experience. The team meet regularly on weekdays for part of the day so if you have capacity to join us during the week, please make contact with us.
Training will be provided.
