Was giving back to your local community one of your New Year’s resolutions for 2024? Needing to gain experience working with whãnau in our community? Why not join PIPS to volunteer some time supporting vulnerable families and their babies?!

PIPS is a small independent charity helping support families in the Canterbury region for more than 40 years. Through pregnancy and early parenting we provide a nurturing space where whānau are valued and empowered, to ensure a brighter beginning for every baby.

This role is to welcome whãnau to our little "shop" and to help support staff to assist whãnau with their enquiries and practical needs.

PIPS is looking for amazing volunteers who are confident with interacting with whanau and social services, have the ability to follow administrative procedure, have clear communication, and hold the values of confidentiality, boundaries, and ethics.

This role is face to face and involves direct contact with whãnau, some administration and other tasks that will help our centre run smoothly. Duties may include: ● Collecting whãnau information and data ● Sorting and organising baby and maternity clothing, bedding or nursery items ● Cleaning/sanitising nursery equipment ● Cleaning/sanitising baby car seats/capsules ● Assembling and checking donated nursery equipment ie bouncers or cots ● Keeping the centre clean and tidy ie. vacuuming, wiping down toys and surfaces etc.

We can offer a great team environment, experience and skill development and the opportunity to give back to your local community helping vulnerable babies and whanau to thrive and grow.
