This sport - focused organisation is looking for a volunteer Treasurer to oversee its financial affairs, including: reconciling bank statements, managing cash flow, invoicing and keeping track of membership fees. The Treasurer should be knowledgeable about who has access to funds and any outstanding bills or debts owed. The role will include bank account signing authority, expense reimbursement, credit card usage and petty cash management (if applicable). This role is responsible for the preparation of an annual budget, as well as regularly monitoring and comparing the actual revenues and expenses incurred against this budget. The role-holder will also keep the board updated on key financial events, trends and concerns, and assessments of overall fiscal health. The Treasurer is also generally responsible for completing or ensuring the completion of required financial reporting forms (as part of the Annual (Societies return). Importantly, you will also be able to translate financial concepts and information for board members who do not have financial backgrounds or substantial financial experience. The organization is currently NOT registered for GST.
