Andersons Bay Sea Scout Leader

Andersons Bay Sea Scouts

Posting on behalf of the Andersons Bay Sea Scout Group.

We are looking for some more keen adults to join our team of Sea Scout leaders at Andersons Bay Sea Scouts to help us empower youth through adventurous experiences to lead lives that make a positive difference!

Although we are Sea Scouts, no boating experience is required, but is a bonus!

Our Scout section works with awesome youth ages 10 - 14 years old. We meet once a week on a Wednesday evening for 2 hours and currently have a very successful and active section. We also run weekend camps throughout the year and through the summer we also run Sunday Sailing sessions - these are both subject to availability of leaders and not expected.

We make a term plan at the start of each term, where each leader might have a couple things each to organise each term. Some nights are at the Scout Hall or Boat Shed, and others are out in the community or outdoors.

No experience is necessary, all training is provided.

Key qualities could include:

  • Patience to work with youth
  • Adventurous
  • Keen to try new things
  • Passion for working with youth or youth development

Scouts uses outdoor and adventurous experiences to teach youth life skills, leadership, resilience, and teamwork.

As a leader you will:

  • Get access to training which will be useful in and out of Scouts.
  • Make other adventurous adult friends.
  • Help youth to grow into great adults.
  • Get to do some awesome stuff!
