The Graeme Dingle Foundation Canterbury

The Graeme Dingle Foundation works with Aotearoa New Zealand’s tamariki and rangatahi at different life stages, working directly with schools and communities through our programmes. Established in 1995, we are proud to be a leading Child and Youth Development charity.

Our programmes are currently delivered to over 36,000 young people in 10 regions across Aotearoa New Zealand every year. Our vision is to ensure Aotearoa will be the best place in the world to be young.

Doing good is one thing. Being able to track the difference we make is another. Through extensive, ongoing research we know for a fact that Graeme Dingle Foundation programmes;

Improve attitudes and behaviour Improve academic results Help young people set and achieve their goals Boost self-confidence Reduce truancy rates and at risk behaviours (eg substance abuse) Help young people feel more positive about the future

Project K and He Ara Akong are for year 10 high school students from various backgrounds. Each programme has a wilderness adventure for the students, followed by the mentorship phase, community projects and an optional challenge. Last years challenge was foto raise money so that they could fly a plane, the year before that it was a bungee jump.

Each programme is about showing our young people that they can overcome challenges, believe in themselves and to help them discover the next steps that they want to take in life.

At the end of the year we host a big Graduation celebration for all of the students across all of our programmes. This is an opportunity for us to get our young people up on stage and celebrate all of the effort they put in throughout he year.

Your influence will change the lives of our students and will help them to discover their potential and a better understanding of who they want to become. Our programmes start in April and we would love your support in becoming a mentor during 2023.
