Logo for Vinnies Op Shop Onehunga - St Vincent de Paul

Vinnies Op shops are a well-established and much-loved part of the Kiwis retail landscape. Aside from being op-shop mecca for fans of all things quality and thrift, the shops often act as the first point of contact for people seeking emergency assistance such as food and clothing; thereby playing a central role to the operations of the Society. Last year our shop donated $25,000 to the flood relief in the Gisborne area as well as supporting our local food bank. The shops are a great place to work for anyone interested in community and particularly in Vinnies Good Works.

Do you like to keep things clean and tidy? Are you organised and reliable? Do you enjoy being busy?

If you answered yes, then it sounds like you might enjoy volunteering with our team.

You might be recently retired, in-between jobs, new to the job market and needing to get some valuable work experience and skills, perhaps wanting to improve your English skills, or simply keen to try something new. Whatever your skills, we are sure we can find a job for you in our team.

We are looking for volunteers who can help us: • sort and price incoming donations • keep on top of our donations of books, DVDs, CDs and records • look after our homeware shelves, art wall or toy departments • help customers and work on the front counter • keep the shop clean and tidy • work in our new laundry - washing, ironing or steaming clothes • mend clothes • restore furniture or help with furniture donations • test electrical appliances.
