We are looking for volunteers to join the management committee to assist us with the running of the Waiora Scout Campsite and Training Centre. We are currently on the search for a new Secretary/minute taker or committee member.

The Waiora Scout Camp, located in Whare Flat, was purchased by the local Scout community in 1948 and is run by a committee of volunteers. Our tenants include Scouts and Guides, Church groups, Schools, family events, training courses, weddings, members of the public, music festivals, etc.

We love to provide a fun, safe environment for everyone, especially youth, to experience the outdoors and enjoy outdoor activities. We have multiple facilities, fields for camping, and outdoor activities available for anyone to hire.

We meet once a month in Caversham, and members may have actions from each meeting to work on in between.

General committee members do not need any specific skills, but could have any of the following...

• General usefulness!
• Experience with grant applications.
• Construction, building or maintenance experience.
• Administration experience.
• Hospitality experience.
• Business experience.
• A passion for the outdoors.
• A passion for youth development.

Volunteers do not need any Scout experience or involvement.
