The role As a volunteer programme facilitator, you will be part of the team that delivers our cognitive stimulation Active Brain Programme to our clients who attend our day programme sites in Hastings and Napier respectively. We have a person-centred model of care. This is a fun job, with the freedom to be creative and engage with the wider community. We work with an amazing team of volunteers and staff who also support our service delivery. The position is a volunteer role. Desired skills and experience • A strong desire to have a positive effect on people with a diagnosis of dementia, their care partners and whanau, and a commitment to supporting and promoting their individual needs, skills, abilities and personal goals • A creative mind with a good sense of humour and an ability to engage a diverse group in meaningful activity • Demonstrate a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and understand equity in health • Personal qualities of resilience, empathy and self-confidence • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Basic computer skills • Current driver's license and an ability to drive a van For more information about our services please visit our website.
