As a companion volunteer you will visit people in their own homes to spend time with them and/or give their carers a break. You could be doing the following or other interests the patient may have: Sitting with the person and talking : Reading a book/article/letter/newspaper to the person : Playing cards or a board game : doing a jigsaw puzzle : Writing cards or letters for the person : Walking the persons dog with them : Supporting the person to do activity that is important to them. You will perform the tasks while maintaining professional boundaries and expectations which will be fully outlined for you.
