Growing Through Grief is a social service of the Anglican Diocese of Waiapu, providing Seasons for Growth® education and peer-support programmes for children, young people, and adults who are experiencing change, loss and grief in their lives. This may include the death of a loved one, parental separation or divorce, moving house or school, as well as many other life changes and losses. As a volunteer (who we call companions) you will be trained to deliver a suite of programmes. You will be reliable and able to commit few hours each week during the school term. You will need to be a good listener and have come to terms with your own loss and grief experience. Attending a grief and loss seminar and child protection training is also required (provided by us). A police background check is required for this role. The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
