Anyone, in any job, can be a volunteer role model and you can too.

Inspiring the Future is a programme for students aged 7 - 13 across Aotearoa New Zealand to learn about jobs, using storytelling. This type of volunteering links to the mahi you already do, offering a deep connection to what you’re passionate about.

Imagine sharing your story and connecting tamariki to the world of work. It’s easy! At an Inspiring the Future school event, you’ll join a panel of volunteer role models. The students will learn about your job, why you love doing it, as well as your journey to get there. Inspiring the Future has both in-person and online event options so that you can take part from anywhere – you can connect from the comfort of your own home, or your workplace.

After you sign up, teachers can view your profile and invite you to events – you can accept or decline as you wished based on your availability. In-person events last 2-3 hours, online events last around 1 hour.

If you enjoy what you do, you’ll be seen as a role model who is helping young people to understand the world of opportunity that awaits them - and you'll have fun doing it!

Taking part can literally change lives

They can’t be what they can’t see so, no matter what job you do, you’ll help broaden children’s horizons and imagine a future they might never have considered!

You can learn more about the programme from our website, and it’s very easy to sign up. For any questions, use the Apply button and we’ll get in touch with you.
