Tool Librarian
The Waiuku Community Workshop & Tool Library offers local people low-cost access to borrow from hundreds of tools to repair and repurpose, diverting waste from landfill. We are a part of the Waiuku Zero Waste family and the Tool Library & Workshop is based on site.
What you'll be doing: helping members check out/in tools (customer service), check over and organise the tools. We use software called MyTurn for managing our library members and tools. It's a reasonably simple job which at times can be quiet, so there's a chance to get hands-on with tools while you're hanging around.
We'd really appreciate those with repair skills so we can continue to maintain our tools in a speedy manor to ensure our tools are back available to loan asap.
When we need your help: Saturday mornings 9am to 12pm (or Wednesday afternoons). Usually once a month, for 3 hours. Ideally you'll be available for a couple of Saturdays and/or Wednesdays in a row to sort some training but not essential.
What you'll get in return: Access to the Tool Library for yourself, the Community Workshop, and access to discounted resources for your own projects through Waiuku Zero Waste. Whatever help you think you can offer, we would love to chat.
