Tech Support For People With Vision Impairment (Alexa Smart Speaker)

Blind Low Vision NZ managed by Volunteer Wellington

Logo for Volunteer Wellington

We are rolling out a new innovative and wireless way for people with vision impairment to access our talking book library. Members will be sent an Amazon Alexa device that will allow the member to search and select by voice commands what they would like to read. We are looking for people who are able to travel to the homes of members and set up their talking book account, as well as teach people how to use voice commands. Depending on the background of the member, a couple of visits are often required to allow the person with vision impairment to feel confident using the Alexa to read their talking books.
