NZ Maritime Museum
Our Museum tells the remarkable stories of New Zealand’s rich maritime heritage. From Kupe and the first Polynesians to arrive in New Zealand, right through to our present day yachting success and the inspirational story of Sir Peter Blake, the Museum celebrates the world’s greatest maritime pioneers. The NZ Maritime Museum's seven galleries are presented over two levels, with balconies all the way through so you can get good views of the boats on display. Each gallery tells its own story of New Zealand’s maritime history and pioneering spirit, and how it has contributed to our identity today.
