FLARE is a charitable arts organisation dedicated to supporting and celebrating street art, muralism and graffiti culture in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
We deliver the FLARE Ōtautahi Street Art Festival, create large-scale public murals, support local and visiting artists, and run community arts events. Our work helps make art accessible in public spaces while creating opportunities for artists and contributing to Christchurch’s identity as a leading street art city.
We also operate Urban Art Central, our volunteer and artist-led gallery and shop. The gallery showcases original artworks, prints, merchandise, sculptures, books and zines, giving local artists an accessible place to exhibit and sell their work.
Volunteers are a valued part of our creative community. They help us keep the gallery open, welcome the public and support the delivery of festivals, murals and events across the city.
