SuperSkills Jubilee

SuperSkills Jubilee is a community-based programme supporting individuals and whānau across Southland to build confidence, resilience, social connection, and practical life skills in a safe and welcoming environment. Operating under Jubilee Budget Advisory Service, SuperSkills uses a kaitiaki mentoring approach — sharing generational knowledge, encouragement, and practical support to help people grow in everyday life skills and personal wellbeing. We work alongside people from all walks of life, creating opportunities to learn, connect, and gain confidence through supportive group sessions, workshops, and mentoring. Activities may include cooking, meal planning, household routines, communication skills, personal organisation, problem-solving, stress management, and building healthy relationships, alongside creative and social activities such as arts and crafts, knitting, needlework, sewing, and relaxed coffee groups where people can share skills, build friendships, and support one another in a welcoming environment. At SuperSkills, we believe everyone deserves to feel capable, connected, and supported without judgement. Our volunteers play an important role in helping create a warm, inclusive environment where people feel encouraged to learn new skills, build friendships, and strengthen their wellbeing. Through manaakitanga, compassion, and community connection, we aim to help build healthier, more resilient futures for Southlanders and their whānau.
